What acupuncture treats
Acupuncture is fully integrated into the medical system in China and across much of East Asia, and over the last fifty years has become established in the west as a respected form of complementary medicine. The World Health Organization recognises its effectiveness across a wide range of conditions, and it is increasingly used alongside mainstream care in Ireland, the UK and beyond.
It is widely used to support fertility programmes (including IVF), to ease pregnancy and labour, to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and to address chronic pain, digestive issues, sleep, anxiety and the deep fatigue that often follows long illness.
What a session looks like
Your first appointment includes a detailed health and lifestyle consultation followed by treatment. Very fine, single-use needles are inserted at carefully selected points along the meridian system — most people find the sensation surprisingly gentle and deeply relaxing. A typical first visit takes around 75–90 minutes; follow-up sessions are usually 60 minutes.
Treatment plans are tailored to you. Some conditions resolve in a handful of sessions; others, especially long-standing patterns, benefit from a longer course. Cost details are listed on the fees page.
